Chris & Kayleigh's Rainy June Wedding

A wedding on a Saturday in June.  You'd expect a hot summer day, right?  No we had a rainy day.  A LOT of rain.  I arrived at Chris & Kayleigh's wedding (and reception) location.  It was being held on a family friend's property in Grove City, Ohio.  BEAUTIFUL.  Green grass for days and trees and tress.  A photographers dream.  Only the rain had other plans for us.  Kayleigh was chill, and not worried about the day and the plan.  Afterall that's what they had a tent for.  We came up with a plan B for their first look and bridal party photos and went with it.  The rain stopped about an hour before the ceremony.  It was perfect timing.  Enough time to clean up, regroup and start on time.  I met these two last year, through a mutual friend.  They're both sweet as pie and I was so excited for their big day.  I knew Kayleigh had worked so hard on the detils and I couldn't wait to see them all come together.

Her dress was seriously one of my favorites of all time.  Absolutley amazing.

Kayleigh had this ladder at the front of the ceremony site as a surprise to Chris.  One of Chris' buddies (Kevin) passed away a few months ago and these were all things honoring him!  It was beautiful.  More on this later!

I probably hear the song "Friends in Low Places" by Garth Brooks every wedding I photograph.  But this wedding brought a whole new memory to the song for me.  Kevin's (Chris' buddy who had passed away)  parents were there and they danced with Chris, Kayleigh and all their friends to this song.  All the while hugging mom & dad and remembering Kevin.  I'm pretty sure we all had tears!

The day was perfect!  Congratulations again you two.  I'm so glad I was there to capture it all for you.  I wish you many, many years of happiness <3

Ryan & Rachel's Louisville Wedding!

We traveled to Louisville, KY for Rachel & Ryan's wedding a few weeks ago!  It was a beautiful weekend, rained off and on but nothing that was going to ruin their awesome weekend.  Saturday morning we started the morning with Rachel getting her make up done at the mall.  Then headed off to the church to finish getting ready.  Their day was beautiful and we had so much fun.

Her Father was so sweet seeing her for the first time!

I don't even need to tell you how beautiful this church was! So awesome!

So "funny" side story about the cake.  After the ceremony we found out that the cake fell into itself!  Some friends/family of the couple worked hard to put it back together to the best that they could and quickly.  They ended up completely loosing a tier all together.  But the cake was still delicious!

Thank you so much Rachel & Ryan!  We had so much fun with you on your wedding weekend.  And Thank You Shannon too!  :)           I hope you all enjoy these!

Kristi & Matt, Engaged!

These two are getting married... NEXT WEEK!  I can't believe their big day is JUST around the corner.  It's going to be awesome.  It's at The Vault in Columbus, Ohio.  I can't wait to see all the details come together.  We headed downtown to do their engagement photos a few weeks ago.  They were so not picky and up for anything I told them to do...LOVE that :)

Enjoy these you two!  See you in a week!

Ashley & Ryan's Jamaica wedding!

ohmigosh...Ashley and Ryan are MARRIED!  I have told this story before, but for those of you who don't know... I met Ashley & Ryan in February of 2011...they came to me for their little man's 3 month photos.  It was all she wrote after that.. :) I started babysitting their son, and we became friends!  Ashley was planning their Jamaica wedding and I made a joke that it would be awesome if I could go as their photographer...that joke turned into reality!  My husband and I traveled with them, and the rest of their friends and family to Montego Bay, Jamaica this June.  It was simply amazing.  The whole trip was awesome.  I feel so blessed to have been such a huge part of their wedding day and trip!   This is by far the largest blog post I've ever done...I just couldn't narrow the photos down.....

Flowers like this everywhere.

Ashley & Ryan have another friend from NY who is also a photographer, she stepped in to be my second shooter.  It was so nice to have her there.  She hung out with the guys and took photos of them getting ready, while I hung out with the girls!

Ashley did an AMAZING job at the details, even though she had to travel with them.  Like this bowl... their rings were tied in it, and it was passed around during the ceremony for everyone to say a wish over, or a small prayer or a blessing for Ashley and Ryan, and then it came back to them when it was time for them to exchange them! LOVE that!

I would like to point out that these flowers are fake... and Ashley made the bouquets & boutonnieres!  They were awesome.
Girls, girls, girls :)

I don't know why I was so in awe at how beautiful she looked...I mean she's always so classy looking and well put together.  But she looked Ahhhmazing!

I am so in love with her dress. I LOVE it.  ps girls...she's thinking about selling it.... if you know someone getting married you better CALL HER!

She had a gift made for her mom... this moment was one of my favorite moments I've every photographed at a wedding.  These two have awesome love for each other, and it was so great to watch!

I took that, while walking, without looking, with my camera hanging down to my side...And I LOVE it!

 Hey girl, hey!  <3

As BEAUTIFUL as that dress was...it was HEAVY, and HOT.  Time for a little airing out!

So about 10 minutes after this shot the clouds rolled in, and it started raining :(  Of course the wedding was planned to be on the beach...we waited and waited for the rain to stop, but it just wasn't giving in.  The resort moved everything inside, and we went with plan B!  It was still amazing, and beautiful, it just threw a wrench in our plans...but we all made the best of it.  After all, we were in JAMAICA!

This is how you do a cake smash Jamaica style.... Half of the piece in the Brides mouth and then the groom eats the other half!

Thank you, you two, for allowing Josh and I to come there with you...to be a part of your day.. guests at your wedding...and friends!  We had an amazing time, and are so thankful for the experience.  We love you both and wish you all the best and MANY, MANY years of happiness.  La Bella Vida!

The perfect bow!

I'm sitting here editing away at Brooke & Bret's wedding photos.  I came across one that I thought deserved it's own blog post.

I can be a bit OCD.  I think most people who really KNOW me, know that.  (Aren't we all a bit OCD, in some way? Just say yes!)  One of my "things" is perfect bows.  I'm kind of anal about them.  When a bride is getting dressed...I always worry if her dress has a bow, that it will look just PERFECT.  Well I used to just hold it in, and keep it to myself...but the secrets out.  I tied my first bow on a bride last fall.  It was my pleasure! :)  THEN, while second shooting with Sarah a few months back, the bride got her dress on...someone started to tie the bow and they asked if anyone could tie a good bow.  I almost didn't say anything...but then I did.  "I can."  "Seriously?" they replied with a smile.  "Yes!" I said.  I jumped in and tied her a perfect bow!

Then at my last wedding...it happened again.  "Can anyone tie a good bow?"  they asked.  (Of course directing it to the other bridesmaids in the room)  "Tasha can!"  Sarah said.  I jumped in and tied her a perfect bow too.  I'm so glad I could complete your dresses; Kim, Cristina & Brooke!  <3
