Shawn & Sarah are ENGAGED and oh so Adorable!!

Meet Shawn & Sarah!  Shawn plays for the Columbus Clippers!  (I've been working part time at the games this summer and that's how we got connected...through people each know on staff there.)  Sarah lives in Raleigh, NC and came for the weekend so we could do their session.  We met for their engagement photos at The Park of Roses.  Crystal Jo was with me because she had a wedding and I was second shooting with her, so we just made a day of it!   Shawn & Sarah,  Thank you so much for a great Saturday morning session.  You guys were so easy going and up for anything.    I hope you love these images and hopefully we get a chance to work together again in the future.   <3

Sarah, you are gorgeous.

It's not secret that most men don't get excited about photo sessions.  But Shawn was awesome. They were so natural and he was so sweet with her.  He asked if we had time at the end if we could take a few photos of them with their truck.  OF COURSE.  You just did whatever we wanted you to do (without complaining) for over an hour lol.  We can totally take some photos of you guys with your (awesome) truck.

Every time I've been working on their images and I see these photos I start singing Luke Bryan's That's my kind of night.  "I got that real good feel good stuff.
Up under the seat of my big black jacked up truck.  Rollin' on 35s.  Pretty girl by my side."

Congratulations again you guys!  Thanks for being so great!

Here's a few behind the scenes photos.  Thank you Crystal for carrying my bag, helping me and fluffing Sarah's hair!

The Cook Family

I just love this sweet family.  Emily & Cody came to me for maternity photos when they were pregnant with their little man.  They had one of my most favorite maternity sessions ever.  THEN I went to their house for newborn photos.  Wyatt did NOT want to sleep for them... I introduced them to my secret....the sound machine.  He still sleeps with it they said :)  (Glad you guys finally got some sleep!)  Now, he's walking and talking and as cute as a button.   We met at Slate Run in Canal Winchester, OH one morning for their fall photos.  Wyatt wanted to run and explore but we had fun!

Columbus Ohio Birth

If you've followed my photography for any length of time you've seen me post about Kelly & Jacob...or heard me talk about them.  BUT if you haven't, here's the scoop.  Kelly emailed me in January of this year...they had JUST found out they were expecting and NO ONE knew.  She had this plan on how she wanted to tell them all. We planned a "family photo session"  everyone met us, Sarah and I were there to photograph it and video it.  We would do a big group photo and in the middle of it, I would say... "Say Kelly's pregnant" and then capture their reactions.  We did it, and it turned out perfect.  Watch it here.  We stayed in touch and did their gender reveal.  View it here.  They were thrilled to find out they were expecting a boy.  Then I did their maternity photos....seriously one of my favorite maternity sessions ever.   Then it was time to wait for this special little man.  Kelly wanted to have him labor day weekend.  She text me at 8:00am on Saturday, said she was having contractions and was going to see how they went.  I packed my bag, made arrangements for my kids.  Her husband called me around 9:00am and said she was putting on make up (typical of her ;-)  ) and heading to the hospital.  By 10:30 I hadn't heard anything and I text him to see how it was going....no response.  Okay, no biggie I'm sure they're busy getting checked in.  He calls me at 11:00, she's a 9 and just got her epidural.  EXCUSE ME.  WHAT.  I left my house while I was still on the phone with him.  "Don't let them break her water"  "Please Lord let me make it there for them."  I prayed those things all the way there.  I made record time to the hospital, parked and booked it inside.  When the nurse buzzed me back into L&D I heard someone say my name; I turned around and it was a doctor that I know.  Sarah shot her son's birth and we did his newborn photos.  She was Kelly's doctor.  Best day ever.  She knew I was coming and was waiting for me.  She followed me into Kelly's room, broke her water and it was almost show time.

These two.  I love their love.  He adores her and she lights up when she looks at him.

Nice job on that Make up, Kelly! ;-)

When they decided with their nurse that it was time to start pushing, or at least test pushing....Kelly asked Jacob to say a prayer.   Perfection.

Then it was time.

Her eyes.  On the prize.  She used the mirrors, and kept her eyes on her baby boy making his way down.

I told ya.  <3

So Kelly is a teacher.  She brought this book for them to read to Gunner.  He got his first bath, a fresh blanket and was snuggled up in mommy's arms for his first book.  It was seriously the sweetest thing ever.

Congratulations (again) you two.  I seriously couldn't be happier for the two of you.  You guys are so sweet and I'm so glad I was able to be such a big part of Gunner's life, even before he was born.  I can't wait to watch him grow!!  <3

I'll be sharing his newborn session soon!!

Holly & Wayne Hometown Barn Wedding

Holly contacted me for information about photographing her wedding last year.  I knew it was going to be at her parents farm, but I had no idea the details and the time she had put into it.  We arrived and I was instantly blown away.  She left no detail unturned.  It was clear that she'd be planning for months... years!  Her parents purchased the farm last year, and tore down one barn, and fixed up some of the others.  Most of the wood signs you see from the wedding are made from the barn that they tore down.  Absolutely love how they all turned out!

Congratulations you two, Your day was perfect (even with the rain ;-) ) I'm so glad I was able to capture your day, your love and all of the details that went went it!

Brace yourself for a long blog post full of images.  Full.  I adored this wedding, and all of the photos so it was so hard for me to choose for this post.  I may have gone overboard :)

Drew & Jen's Elegant Country Wedding {Circleville, Ohio}

These two!  Ahh, they were a joy to work with!  I've known Drew since we were in elementary school.  Grew up doing 4H, Fair, he played basketball, I cheered, school trips, friend get togethers.. so when Jen contacted me about photographing their wedding, I was oh so excited to do it.  Their wedding took place at a small church close to Circleville.  Their reception was held at their country house in Circleville.  Drew works full time, but in the winter and his spare time he remodels houses.  The location of the reception was the one he is working on to be their home.  The property was amazing, the house was gorgeous and the barns were just as awesome.  Jen was chilled and ready to see her groom at the alter, Drew was nervous and anxious to see her walking down the aisle.  The ceremony was perfect, and then we were off to do photos of their bridal party and the two of them.  To watch the two of them interact was so refreshing.  They're so in love and it shows.  They giggled, hugged, smiled and just laughed the entire time.  Congratulations again Drew & Jen, I'm so glad I was able to document the day for you.  I wish you many, many years of happiness, love and LAUGHTER.

Just a little behind the scenes.  You know I love ring shots :)
